🐊 Why Rusty Whitt Rebuilt Florida's Weight Room
In his first year leading Florida's football strength and conditioning program, Director of Football Performance Rusty Whitt isn't waiting to put his stamp on things. Whitt rebuilt the weight room inside the $85-million Heavener Football Training Center — less than four years old — citing safety and efficiency.
The old double-sided half racks didn't give linemen enough space to move, spot, or squat inside a full cage. New Sorinex equipment fixes that. Most coaches step into a director role and figure out what it requires after the fact. Nick DiMarco, Director of Sports Performance at Elon, is trying to change that. His new book, The Director's Manual, is built for three people: the coach who wants the job, the one who just got it, and the one looking to get better at it.
