🏈 Utah Promotes Steve Saunders to Director of Football Sports Performance
After Greg Argust resigned Monday, Utah promoted Steve Saunders to director of football sports performance. Saunders was previously the Baltimore Ravens' head strength and conditioning coach and joined Utah's staff ahead of spring football as an assistant strength and conditioning coach. Former Utah safety Eric Weddle called Saunders "the best strength coach I've ever had in my entire career." The Ravens and Saunders parted ways in early 2023. Read more

🏋️♀️ Weight Room Floors Are Part of the Training System Now
Weight rooms aren't just getting bigger - they're getting more intentional. Traditional 3/8", ½", and ¾" thick floors aren't cutting it as programs balance heavier loads, faster sessions, and year-round training.
With over 175 collegiate weight rooms installed, ICON Group built Force55 as a 32mm (1¼") system that delivers 55% force reduction while holding up under serious strength work. The idea: when the floor absorbs impact, athletes can lift and move without unnecessary stress on their bodies. Visit ICON at the CSCCa National Conference (Booth 415), or connect with your local sales rep to request a sample. See More
🏀 Ohio State Strength and Conditioning Coach Quadrian Banks Leaving the Buckeyes
Quadrian Banks, the longtime strength and conditioning coach for Ohio State men's basketball, is leaving the program after more than eight years. "My family and I just have an overwhelming appreciation for every student-athlete that has come through the doors over these past eight-plus years," Banks told The Columbus Dispatch.
Banks arrived at Ohio State in summer 2017, brought to Columbus by then-incoming head coach Chris Holtmann after serving as the performance and conditioning coach for the NFL's Indianapolis Colts. In 2020, the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association named Banks a Master Strength and Conditioning Coach, the profession's highest honor. He was the first Scarlet and Gray coach in any sport to receive the distinction. Read More
🎰 NCAA Reveals Details of Fordham Point-Shaving Plot
The NCAA released findings Tuesday revealing how an alleged gambling ring approached players under the guise of being NIL agents and targeted a Fordham men's basketball game in 2024, leading to two former Rams being ruled permanently ineligible.
Former Fordham players Elijah Gray and Will Richardson allegedly communicated with known bettors and a former NBA player about throwing a game against Duquesne on Feb. 23, 2024, in exchange for $10,000-$15,000 payments each. Gray told the NCAA he agreed to lose the game but ultimately reconsidered and played with his normal effort in Fordham's win. Gray has pleaded guilty and is awaiting sentencing. Former NBA player Antonio Blakeney has been charged in the scheme. Read More
