🗓️ NCAA Eligibility Rules Not Retroactive
NCAA president Charlie Baker told ESPN the new age-based eligibility rules won't apply to athletes who graduated or exhausted their eligibility in the 2025-26 season. "If you've used up your eligibility, you've used it up," Baker said. The Division I board directed the cabinet to advance the five-year eligibility proposal, with a potential vote on May 22. Baker said he's "pretty optimistic" the new rules will pass. Read more
💪 Tommy Moffitt: Chase Bisontis "The Strongest Player I've Ever Coached"
Tommy Moffitt called Texas A&M's Chase Bisontis "very strong, probably the strongest collegiate football player that I've ever coached." Bisontis has bench pressed 445 pounds and hit 17 mph on the GPS. This offseason, he squatted 605 pounds for three reps, but Moffitt said he could've done it 10 times. Bisontis was drafted 34th overall by the Arizona Cardinals. Read more
🏈 Utah Football Director of Sports Performance Greg Argust Resigns
Greg Argust, Utah's director of football sports performance, resigned Monday — just months after his January promotion. Argust had been with the Utes for over 20 years, dating back to his time as a graduate assistant.
The move is the latest shake-up for Utah's coaching staff following Kyle Whittingham's departure to Michigan. Utah's longtime strength and conditioning coach, Doug Elisaia, followed Whittingham to the Wolverines. Read More
🏋️♀️ Dr. Justin Lima: Power Complex Can Help Teach the Clean
Dr. Justin Lima shared how the Power Complex has evolved into a tool for teaching the clean. After presenting at the NSCA Iowa State event, a coach asked about using the Power Complex over three days: Day 1 hang clean pull, Day 2 RDL, Day 3 high pull-to-catch drill. This allows coaches to overload the hip with the RDL and clean pull, then teach the transition into the front squat catch on Day 3.
Lima says the Power Complex complements the clean, doesn't compete with it. He admits he was wrong when he previously said to get rid of the clean — they work together, and it can be a great teaching tool. Read More
