Oregon men's basketball has hired Brandon Kuhn as its new strength and conditioning coach, head coach Dana Altman announced.

Kuhn brings nearly two decades of college experience to Eugene, arriving from Texas A&M, where the Aggies reached the NCAA Tournament's second round in 2025-26. His résumé also runs through Miami, St. John's, and Western Kentucky, where he helped the Hilltoppers win back-to-back Sun Belt titles in 2012 and 2013. In September, he was named a "Roots 66" honoree, recognizing 66 of the most impactful figures in the industry.

We rebuilt the S&C Career Hub around the data: a live dashboard tracking hiring trends across the profession, salary benchmarks, surveys, a redesigned job board and map, and a built-in CEU tracker - all in one place, included with your AI Playbook subscription. Get it here.

After Carolina's Game 6 win over Vegas, the Hurricanes hoisted the 35-pound Stanley Cup like it was nothing - and according to the Raleigh News & Observer, that was by design.

Strength coach Bill Burniston revealed in a May mini-documentary that the team kept a cinder block, about the same weight as the Cup, in the weight room all season. Players pressed it overhead once in a lift they called the "blue collar press." "We asked the guys to do one press and think of the blue-collar moments that got them here," Burniston said, "and somebody that's helped you get here." A year of one-rep symbolism, cashed in on the ice.

Dr. Rhonda Patrick highlighted a notable finding on her podcast with aging researcher Steve Horvath: omega-3s may slow biological aging, and stacking them with vitamin D and exercise adds up. They were unpacking the DO-HEALTH trial in Nature Aging - a 3-year study of 777 older adults testing vitamin D, omega-3, and a home exercise program against DNA-methylation "aging clocks." Omega-3 alone slowed several clocks; all three together had an additive effect on one measure, worth roughly 3 months of slowed aging over the three years.

Small effects, but Horvath - who co-authored the study and built the original epigenetic clock - calls them some of the strongest evidence yet that simple interventions move the needle.
