💪 Steve Gephardt Named Director of S&C for Georgia Tech Men's Basketball
Steve Gephardt has been named Director of Strength and Conditioning for men's basketball at Georgia Tech. Gephardt brings over 20 years of experience to The Flats, arriving from Maryland where he served as Director of Strength and Resilience for men's basketball under Buzz Williams.
Before that, he spent five years at Texas A&M — where he contributed to multiple 20-win seasons, three NCAA Tournament appearances, and helped develop NBA guard Quentin Jackson. Prior to A&M, he logged 13 years at TCU, working across basketball and football and developing NBA players Desmond Bane and Kenrich Williams, along with a roster of NFL prospects.
🥎 How Michelle Diltz Turned Alabama Softball Into a Home Run Machine
Twenty-one years into her tenure, Michelle Diltz is having one of her best seasons yet as strength and conditioning coach for Alabama softball. The Crimson Tide have hit 82 home runs this season — fifth-most in program history — after hitting just 42 in 2024. According to BamaCentral, it started the way it does every year: Diltz sitting down with head coach Patrick Murphy right after July 4th to map out every player on the roster, identify individual development targets, and build a training plan around the team's goals. Murphy's standing ask is to lead the nation in home runs and stolen bases — a combination most coaches would call impossible. Diltz delivers it anyway. Alabama is currently 44-6.
"She's helped me so much. I've gotten so much stronger being here. She teaches us more than just the weight room — we know how to eat right, how to fuel our bodies right, when to take rest days." — Brooke Wells, Alabama softball Read More
📊 Output Sports Is Launching Something New at CSCCa
Output Sports is debuting Output Program at the show - a platform that brings programming, testing, and monitoring into one system. The idea is simple: coaches shouldn't have to jump between spreadsheets, testing tools, and VBT systems to get a picture of how their athletes are doing. Build sessions, capture strength, power, jump, and VBT metrics, and track athlete progress all in one place. The team will be running live demos throughout the show at booth 436. Read More
