💪 LA Chargers Use Isometric Pull-Up Holds in Training

The LA Chargers are using isometric pull-up holds as a football training tool. Jorge Carvajal posted a video showing Chargers players holding static positions during pull-ups. The idea: by killing momentum, you train the nervous system to lock in and stabilize joints against impact at the exact angles where most players fail. Isometric holds build what Carvajal calls "functional armor" — developing a grip and positional strength that won't break in the 4th quarter. Instead of just moving weight, the goal is to own the position. See More

📈 Your Athletes Are Getting Better. Can You Prove It?

You know your athletes are getting faster and stronger — you can see it every day in the weight room. But when head coach asks "are they getting better?" can you show them something that actually lands? Most S&C coaches have the data: testing numbers, training logs, GPS data. What they don't have is time to turn it into something a sport coach, AD, or parent can actually understand. And when the wins come, the credit goes elsewhere.

This is where truly understanding how to use AI can help coaches. You have the data. AI can turn it into a progress report, season recap, or position group breakdown in seconds. A one-pager that shows exactly what your program delivered and why it matters. Getting faster and stronger takes time. Showing that it's happening doesn't have to.

Before UT Arlington, he spent the 2022-23 season at Kentucky and served five years in the United States Marine Corps.

💊 Vitamin D Matters for Athlete Health and Injury Risk

Dr. Andrea Spiker, orthopedic sports medicine surgeon and UW Badger team physician, shared findings from a recent study of Division I collegiate athletes: 47% were vitamin D insufficient and 18% were deficient. The data shows injury risk increased 13% for every 5 ng/mL drop in vitamin D levels. Notably, the study included 284 athletes from a single university, so results should be interpreted within that context. Read More
