Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Michigan junior left tackle Blake Frazier put his offseason on strength and conditioning coach Doug Elisaia. Frazier arrived on campus in the mid-200s and played last season under the weight he needed at a position where the job now starts at 300 pounds. The new staff targeted him as a player who had to get bigger. He is 302.

It is not only him. Kyle Whittingham said at Big Ten media days that he took over a team weaker than he expected.

"He's been unbelievable," Frazier said. "I mean, you guys have seen it through the past six months; like everybody has gotten bigger, stronger, strength numbers have been off the charts."

What Frazier says he protected through the weight gain is his movement, the thing he leans on to catch a rusher off guard rather than only absorb one.

"I'm not a guy that's gonna get overpowered anymore," Frazier said.

📸 Hollman

In a new Front Office Sports story, locker manufacturer Travis Hollman said a locker package runs an NFL team about $700,000 to $800,000 and roughly twice that for a well-funded Division I football program. The set his company shipped to Notre Dame cost $1.7 million. Roster size explains part of it, since a college team can run past 120 players. The rest is that colleges treat the room as where players live rather than a stop on the recruiting tour.

USC's new $225 million building puts more than 100 zero-gravity recliners on the floor, each wired for phones and compression boots, plus a barbershop and a mudroom so pads never reach the lockers.

Austin Peay announced the hiring of Robert Harris as associate director of sports performance, a return to Clarksville for a coach who ran the department there from 2022 to 2025. He spent last year as director of strength and conditioning at Syracuse, and before that eight years with Kentucky basketball.
