💪 Jeff Cavaliere Talks Training on Huberman Lab

ATHLEAN-X founder and former Mets S&C Coach Jeff Cavaliere sat down with Andrew Huberman to talk about the small things that keep the big lifts going.

A lot of low-back pain, he says, isn't structural - it's weak glutes shifting load to a spine that can't handle it. He's big on the stuff most lifters skip: reverse hypers, hip slides against the wall, and direct work for the grip, neck, and feet. And on sport-specific training, Cavaliere's take is simple - build whole-body strength in the weight room and let skill work be skill work.

🔬 Andy Galpin Shares New Hypertrophy Research

Andy Galpin shared new research breaking down what actually drives muscle growth. The big takeaways for coaches: about 12 sets per muscle per week is the sweet spot, with diminishing returns after that. Train close to failure - around 2 reps in reserve - but going to true failure every set doesn't add much. Rest at least 60 seconds between sets, longer for the big multi-joint lifts. Machines worked just as well as free weights for size. And age isn't the wall people think it is - plenty of older lifters respond just fine. Read More
