💪 Creatine Only Works When Combined With Resistance Training

Brady Holmer shared a new meta-analysis showing creatine supplementation only works when combined with resistance training.

The study analyzed 39 trials in healthy men aged 18-30. Results: creatine led to significant gains in fat-free mass (+3.39 kg) and lean body mass (+2.70 kg) when used with RT, but showed no effects in non-RT conditions. Wingate peak and mean power both increased (peak power +71.27 W, mean power +39.69 W) regardless of training context. CMJ showed a pooled improvement of 2.87 cm, but with high heterogeneity. The takeaway: creatine boosts anaerobic power regardless of training environment, but body composition gains depend on parallel resistance training. Read More

📊 Managing Basketball Training Load to Minimize Game-Day Fatigue

KINEXON breaks down how to manage basketball training load for game day. Fatigue comes from a mismatch between what players experience in practice and what the game demands. KINEXON PERFORM IMU and LPS track intensity, mechanical stress (accelerations, decelerations, cuts), and workload accumulation.

Key insight: players experience the same practice differently based on role, minutes, and recovery capacity. Weekly planning should shift priorities: post-game focuses on recovery for high-minute players, midweek places meaningful intensity exposure, and pre-game emphasizes timing and speed without heavy mechanical stress. The goal is matching practice exposure to game reference points for each role. Read More
