🦡 Inside Wisconsin Football’s Evolving S&C Approach

Wisconsin football is adjusting its strength and conditioning approach this offseason, with director Brady Collins emphasizing smarter load management while keeping the program’s foundation intact. With nearly 50 new players and a 2025 season hit hard by injuries, Collins said older players will train “almost more like pros,” accounting for age, accumulated load, and year-round demands.

He noted most injuries were “football injuries,” not soft tissue issues, and stressed the goal is an efficient plan that prepares players for “the most violent game there is” while keeping the program moving forward. Read More

He highlights the value of field-based testing—including acceleration and max-velocity splits, plus COD tests like the 5-10-5 and 505—to better reflect on-field demands.
